The Full Story
For More than 30 years First Coast Women's Services has been a beacon of hope to families with unplanned pregnancies. Women and men from all backgrounds have entered our centers in need of encouragement, help, resources and answers to life's most difficult questions and thousands have received that help. It is in the same spirit that we reach out into the community in a different way.
Once solely focused on intervention we now turn our eyes to prevention. How can we help our communities arm teenagers and young women with the resources they need to delay pregnancy? Our knowledge and experience make us uniquely qualified to speak on this matter and share the information we have gained with those who are the most vulnerable.
We are sharing our experienced SRA certified professionals with the community to come alongside the work they are already doing to educate young people on sexual risk avoidance. Sexual risk Avoidance is so much more than just "saying no" it's developing confidence and relationship skills that they will use and benefit from for the rest of their lives. Topics such as boundary setting and identifying healthy relationships aid in building a strong foundation for our young people. A foundation that helps them make healthy choices in every area of their lives.
